2020 Lexus GX Revealed With Updated Styling

People have been complaining about the size of the BMW X7’s kidneys ever since the large SUV came out, but let’s keep in mind Lexus’ spindle grille has grown over the years and the GX has been carrying a large corporate face
ever since its first facelift. The nip and tuck were applied for the 2014 model year, and now Toyota’s premium marque is refreshing the luxobarge one more time rather than introducing an all-new, third-gen model.
While the grille doesn’t seem to be bigger than before, its new pattern does make it more imposing and further accentuates the sheer size of the web-like pattern carrying a plethora of “L” motifs. Lexus says it made these changes to bring the 2020 GX in line with other recent products, which is why those LED headlights also have a more modern look.

There’s only one image available at the time of writing, but we do know the revised GX will be offered with an optional Sport Design Package for Premium and Luxury trims bringing niceties such as a slightly more aggressive body and 19-inch wheels finished in gunmetal metallic. Other goodies bundled with the pack include a bespoke lower front grille surround, different side mirror caps, a black finish for the exhaust tip, and a scarlet look for the taillights.

Also available will be an Off-Road Package reserved for the Luxury trim. Fork out the extra money and Lexus will reward you with lots of cameras, a fuel tank protector, transmission cooler, and Multi-Terrain Select. The latter gives you the possibility to optimize the driving experience based on the type of surface you’re driving on, be it on mud, sand or an off-road course where there are rocks to tackle. There’s also Craw Control ideal for low-speed off-roading experiences by automatically maintaining a steady pace while the SUV’s gearbox is in low range.
